What Makes You Tick?

What gets you up in the morning and excited about your day?

What makes you happy?

What makes you angry?

What do you want to do with your life?

What’s important to you?

What’s not important to you?

These are all on the surface of it pretty simple questions.  Answering them might take some thought and may not be easy but it may prove enlightening.  How often do we actually take the time to do a little self-inventory and ask ourselves these and other questions to ensure we understand ourselves as much as possible and we’re living in accordance with our own personal goals and beliefs?

How can we understand others if we don’t first understand ourselves?

Do our daily actions support our short and long term goals?

Do we actually act in accordance with our own personal value system (do we walk the walk)?

No action checklists for you today or indeed too many answers, just a few questions that maybe we could be asking ourselves on a regular basis.  If we do that and take according action to support our answers maybe we’ll start travelling a different path.  Maybe that will lead to a road less travelled.  However, maybe it will also lead to a more rewarding view, journey and experience along the way.

Thanks to Tom for the inspiration for this post and indeed his unlimited support generally.
